Viyet is the online destination for buying and selling designer pre-owned furniture. We make it easy for high-end furniture owners to sell their items when it comes time to move or redecorate. For buyers, we offer online access to brands that are largely restricted to offline showrooms, all for 50-80% below retail prices and for immediate delivery.
Viyet (pronounced VEE-yet) is a play on the design term ‘vignette.’ Defined as the arrangement of various decorative objects to add character to a living space, the term reflects our mission to inspire Interior Redesign by connecting sellers of great design with buyers looking for their perfect piece.
Viyet’s merchandise represents pre-owned furniture, lighting, and accessories sourced from individual homes, interior designers, and showrooms. Every item that is available for sale on Viyet has been personally inspected and vetted by our team of experienced curators. As such, we are pleased to guarantee the authenticity of any item purchased through our site.

Buyer's FAQ

Viyet is unable to allow potential customers to view items in-person as many of these pieces are held in sellers’ homes until sale. Because of this limitation, our team makes 100% certain to document the exact condition and every detail of each piece in our product listings. We also offer a return policy should you be unhappy with your purchase for any reason.

We coordinate with our seller to deliver your item(s) as soon as possible. It is essential that you or someone else is at home to collect your delivery. If our movers cannot reach you for delivery at the confirmed time, a re-delivery charge will apply.
We make every effort to satisfy our buyers. If an item arrives in a condition that is different from that shown on our website, please email us immediately at service@viyet.com or call us at 1-844-MY-VIYET (698-4938).
We will accept returns within 2 business days of delivery. Your refund will be reduced by the cost of return shipping and delivery.
Viyet accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit cards and also offers monthly installment payments through Buy with Affirm.

Seller's FAQ

Viyet accepts well-maintained, quality home furnishings, including antique, vintage, new, and gently-used furniture, lighting, and accessories. We ask that every piece submitted for sale meet the following criteria:

  • Designer brand, or antique, or vintage age and style with established resale value
  • Minimum retail price (if applicable) of $1,000 for furniture, $500 for lighting, and $100 for accessories
  • Excellent or good condition, or able to be restored to excellent or good condition with a little TLC
We are unlikely to accept pieces that have severe stains, are visibly worn, or in need of major repairs and/or refinishing. However, if the pieces are considered to be highly sought after, we may still consider them even if the condition is not optimal. Viyet cannot accept mattresses or nursery items.

Viyet recognizes that sometimes a rare piece of furniture is appealing to buyers regardless of its condition. For those items that are iconic designs and/or from notable designers, we are willing to accept pieces that need some help to restore their original condition. Examples of this type of help could be applying a new finish to a table, new upholstery to a sofa, or replacing worn nailheads on a chair. Items that require significant refurbishment will be priced lower than our average furniture resale prices to reflect the current condition of the piece and the additional restoration cost required.
If your piece is accepted for consignment, you will be asked to provide a few convenient dates and times for a complimentary Curator appointment. After the appointment is scheduled, an expert Curator will be dispatched to the location where the item is housed to photograph, measure, price, and record every detail of the piece.

Before your appointment:

  • Remove any personal items from the piece (e.g. photos, books, etc.).
  • Remove dust.
  • If a furniture piece, adjust the location and clear the path to the piece for easy photography and moving.
Viyet’s team of experienced curators will price your furniture according to condition, brand name, age, and original retail price, or comparable items on the secondary market. For non-antique or vintage items, resale pricing generally ranges from 40% to 80% below the original price paid. You get to approve all pricing prior to your listings going live.
All items will be listed with our Make an Offer feature, which allows buyers to make an offer on your piece. When pricing an item, we provide a price range and offers are negotiated within that price range. We refer to the lowest number in that price range as the reserve price.
Your commission will be based on the net sale amount, which is the final price that we actually receive from the buyer, less permitted deductions. Permitted deductions may include: promotional discounts offered in the interest of selling your items, shipping costs not covered by the buyer, and credit card transaction fees or bank wire fees, all of which are costs we share with you as a consignor.

The commission structure is as follows:

  • 20 or fewer items - 50% commission on the sale amount
  • 21 or more items - 60% commission on the sale amount

Curator appointments are free of charge, and there is no fee to list on our site. Items remaining in your home for the duration of your agreement will be listed free of charge. We only get paid when your pieces sell. Items moved to our secure storage facility will be subject to a moving and storage fee.
In the interest of selling your items, we run sales and promotions. During these promotions, we may automatically reduce the displayed listing price; however, the pricing will remain within your approved pricing range. As a partner in the sale of your items, we monitor interest in your pieces and may recommend a price reduction in order to help sell your merchandise. No price reductions will be made without your approval.
Viyet currently offers a pickup and storage option for items located in New York Metro, Los Angeles, San Francisco, South Florida, Chicago, and North Carolina upon request.
A price quote for moving and storage is provided upon receipt of your consignor application. The cost for moving and storage depends on the quantity and size of consigned items. The bulk of the moving and storage cost is incurred through the move to storage, so the moving and storage fee is not prorated if a piece sells prior to the end of the six-month agreement.
Should your items remain unsold at the end of your six-month agreement, Viyet will provide you the option to donate to charity or reclaim your items. Should you opt to donate, we will facilitate a free pickup by a local charitable organization, which can provide the necessary documentation for a tax deduction. In New York, Housing Works is our preferred charitable partner.

If you opt to have unsold items returned to you, you will incur an additional delivery fee. All storage items must be claimed within seven days of the expired agreement or they will become the property of Viyet.
The listing period is 6-12-months, with a 60 day listing minimum.
We provide our consignors with a discrete way to sell home furnishings, and it is Viyet’s policy to keep all consignor information confidential.
Viyet’s Client Service team will manage all of your offers so the only thing you need to do is collect your commission check. When you list with Viyet, you get a dedicated team to manage your offers and help sell your pieces. We will always work to get you the greatest amount for your piece.
You will be notified by email upon final sale of one or more of your items. The buyer will be responsible for all shipping and delivery charges. Upon delivery, a buyer has 48 hours to return merchandise. If the buyer keeps the merchandise, Viyet will issue commission payment within 30 days of the delivery date (net-30).
Buyers are responsible for shipping costs. In the interest of selling your piece, we may offer a shipping promotion, and that would be an expense that we share with you as a consignor.

  • Furniture: Viyet coordinates white glove shipping of furniture items.
  • Small items and accessories: You will be responsible for packing and shipping small-parcel items (accessories, table lamps, side tables, etc.) within five business days of sale confirmation. Our Client Service team will provide you with a pre-paid Fedex shipping label to use with small-parcel shipments, and you may submit a receipt to be reimbursed for any FedEx packing services.
After your item has been delivered, a buyer has 48 hours to return the merchandise. Note that long distance deliveries can take up to six weeks. If the buyer keeps the merchandise,Viyet will issue commission payment within thirty (30) days from the delivery date. If the buyer opts to return the merchandise, the merchandise will be immediately relisted, and you can choose to have the merchandise returned to the original pickup location or have it moved to storage at no cost to you.
Upon delivery, a buyer has 48 hours to return merchandise. If the buyer keeps the merchandise, Viyet will issue commission payment within thirty (30) days from the delivery date.
Payment is issued via direct deposit with Bill.com or in the form of a check.
